STYLE GURU STYLE: High Waists Are Back

The Zimmerman fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection brings high-waisted pants and bubble blouse tops back. The magic of this year’s Zimmerman ready-to-wear runway show is that it creates a new look for old, classic fashion trends. Ruby red, lavender purple, mellow brown and navy blue make up the show. The look that I especially like combines a translucent purple top with bright high-waisted pants. These red orange pants elegantly contour the model’s legs. Used with the black snakeskin belt, the model’s beautiful body structure really stands out. If you look closely, the pattern of the tops are delicate and detailed. Circles and lines work together harmoniously, giving an appearance of a beautiful flowing top.

Inspired by Zimmerman, I decided to put on my high-waisted jeans from years ago and wear them with a black blouse. The cotton blouse is mainly black, embroidered with a little dark red. The two red tassels add a sense of foreign intrigue. The pure black jeans give the look a sophisticated and polished feel. They are also more comfortable for everyday wear, as the waist does not sit as high as it does on the models’. The shoes match the main color of the runway show. The vintage patterns make them look like they’re from another time. I choose a pair of Baroque earrings and a matching ring for accessories. Although I have black as my main color, the tiny red rubies set in the earrings lighten up the whole outfit.

Zimmerman’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear show highlights high-waisted pants and bubble blouse tops. They are a classic match but can also spark unique designs!
