I spotted (no pun intended) this Fashionista walking down one of the main streets right off campus, and had to stop her to snap a photo of her Dr. Martens. I had been walking with my head down, headphones in, when these polka-dot boots caught my eye. I’ve definitely noticed a huge increase in the amount of Dr. Martens I see around campus this year, and I’m a big fan of this trend.
Not only are these boots popular right now, but they are also built to withstand a Michigan winter. There are so many different options that you can easily find a pair to suit your taste. Aside from the classic black boot, there are patterned styles, floral options and even bright colors available including fluorescent pink. You can choose a pair as subtle or as stand out as you wish.
This Fashionista was a bit shy about having her photo taken, but you would never be able to tell considering the bold boots she chose. She does an excellent job of balancing out her dotted boots with a neutral layered outfit and burgundy scarf on top. She says her main focus was staying warm!
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “First, it is very cold in East Lansing, so I think boots are very important. UGGs and Dr. Martens are two brands that I want to recommend. The shoes from these two brands are very warm for this cold winter and also can match many different kinds of clothes. Aside from boots, a down jacket is also essential. I recommend this black down jacket. Adding skin tight trousers or leggings will help you look slim and beautiful in the snow.”
