STYLE GURU STYLE: Big Sweaters

Wearing clothes that are too big for me has been my thing lately. I love it. So let’s talk about the Bottega Veneta spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. Not only was it classy, it also had a soft touch to it with the neutral colors and splashes of gray knit material. Overall, this collection was really pretty. Although a few pieces of the collection were oversized, it worked. There is absolutely no rule that states all clothing should be form fitting. Oversized clothes are not only comfortable, they’re also fashionable. Specifically, I am talking about this look in the collection. Model Edie Campbell rocked that oversized gray knit sweater. I love the color scheme and materials used in this collection. I’ve always been a fan of neutral colors. To me, the vibe of this 2015 ready-to-wear collection says comfortable yet cute. I decided to translate this vibe into my look, with a roomy, oversized sweater.

One of the main things that attracted me to Tomas Maier’s collection was the calm yet flirty feel of his clothing. In my look, I am wearing an oversized sweater with sheer black tights. The sweater is almost a makeshift mini winter dress because of its size. Since the sweater is very masculine, I paired it with a dainty white scarf in order to add some playfulness and femininity. I decided to wear little wedged boots because they’re really comfy while still adding some height.

When wearing this look you have a lot of options. Instead of wearing tights, you could wear leggings or jeans. And if you decide to wear a scarf, you could try a thick infinity scarf as well. And lastly, don’t be afraid to switch up the color or pattern of the sweater. Make your outfit represent you, and own it!

Get My Look: 1. A large knit sweater. 2. Solid black tights or leggings. 3. A solid color scarf.
