STYLE GURU BIO: Charlotte Reilly

Hello fellow Fashionistas/os! I’m Charlotte Reilly, a freshman at Kent State University majoring in fashion merchandising. So, here’s a little about me: I’m originally from Upstate New York, so I’m used to the crazy climate Ohio has to offer. I’m a city girl at heart, an online shopping addict, and a firm believer of coffee three times a day, beach vacations, and concocting the perfect outfit. I am so excited to be starting my journey as a CollegeFashionista and showing the world my style!

Growing up with three sisters, I was immersed in the world of fashion at a young age. I have vivid memories of playing dress-up with my sisters in my grandmother’s closet and putting on fashion shows in her funky, vintage-looking clothes. This has led me to my love for all things fashion.

To me fashion is all about expressing who you are. It’s an art. I think fashion is whatever you want it to be, it shouldn’t necessarily be following all the latest trends. It should be looking for that one last item to complete your individualized outfit. Whether it’s from Nordstrom’s or a thrift shop, you can find fashion everywhere! You should dress for yourself and show people who you really are through your clothing. I myself don’t have a personal style; mine ranges from preppy to boho to sporty-casual.

One of the best feelings is putting on your favorite pair of jeans or those brand new four-inch heels and feeling like you’re on top of the world. It’s all about wearing clothes that make you feel good about yourself and strutting your stuff.

In this look as you can see I’m ready for the holidays and all the joy that comes with it. I started off with a simple black turtleneck sweater and paired it with this oh so soft black plaid mini skirt. To complete my look, I added a chunky silver necklace from Loft and black lace-up heeled booties. Since winters are very cold in Upstate New York, I decided to add a tan poncho to keep me warm and to bring the whole look together.
