STYLE GURU STYLE: Bold and Simple Versace

Versace, Versace, Versace has done it again in the resort 2017 show. With bold colors and clean lines, the show as usual, exceeds expectations. The looks are relatively simple and not overwhelming but the details and patterns as well as the shape of the pieces are immaculate. The dresses are structured and bold while the shoes are subtle but complete the looks. The trend of the crop pant is included as well as the suit (pantsuits). There are also matching sets and mini dresses that reflect an “urban jungle” look mixed with a feminine artsy twist. The looks are extremely colorful mixing purple and orange and yellow and orange, however there are many neutral tone looks thrown into the mix to balance out the entire show. These looks are all incredible and each one is definitely do-able in an everyday wardrobe. Check out the amazing looks here.

In my look I decided to do a crop denim with a distressed bottom, matched with a black and white vertical striped button-down top. I paired a light gray duster with a silver buckle at the top near the collar and complete the look with a bold red ankle boot. My accessories were simple and included a leather backpack, a black choker and some round sunnies.

The clean lines in the Versace show inspired me to go simple and focus more on the pieces themselves then just adding a bunch of unnecessary items to the look. The bold colors inspired me to add a pop of red. Most of the time my looks consist of relatively neutral colors but this show inspired me to add a little extra color. Also, the cropped pant looks in the show made me want to try a new trend. Before this look I had never bought a pair of pants that were purposely cropped at an ankle length, and when I bought these black ones I decided to go all out with the flare and distressed bottoms. The Versace runway showed a couple cool and trendy ways to wear crop pants with blazers, jackets and even a crew neck sweater. This lead to me pairing my duster with the look. Even the accessories in the runway show were an inspiration to the ones I included in my look.

Get My Look: 1. A pair of ankle boots. 2. Black cropped distressed jeans (there are much cheaper options at places like Urban outfitters and ASOS) 3. A gray duster.
