STYLE GURU BIO: Madeline Makoul

Hey there, Fashionista/os! My name is Madeline Makoul and I’m going to be a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I’m majoring in journalism and English literature and am so excited to be blogging for CollegeFashionista this semester!

With only one year of college left, I’m hoping to work for a fashion magazine in New York City after graduation. It’s not just fashion I’m interested in, but also music, art and celebrities. Yet all of these interests have an impact on fashion and it’s so interesting to see how trends change based on what some of the biggest names in Hollywood are doing.

I get a lot of my inspiration from popular models like Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Hailey Baldwin. All of these girls have a day-to-day style that is simple, yet chic and totally possible to imitate on a budget. With their constant Instagram updates, these models provide a continuous stream of fashion inspiration.

Although I like to stay on top of the trends each season, I tend to keep my personal style pretty simple with a little edge. I like to pair a simple black tank top and jeans with more interesting accessories, like lace-up flats. Black is a staple no matter the season and I normally have on at least one item that is black every day. For jewelry, I like to pick simple, versatile gold pieces that can work with any outfit, whether it’s casual or fancy.

I’m excited to share my style and inspiration with all you fellow Fashionistas/os this semester!
