STYLE GURU BIO: Audie Lauf

Hello my fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! I am excited to return as a Style Guru for my fourth session! This summer marks my one year anniversary working with CollegeFashionista and I could not be more excited. Since my time as a Style Guru, my skills in writing, photography and fashion have improved immensely. CollegeFashionista has been my favorite internship since starting college. My favorite new project that the CollegeFashionista team has been working on is Office Hours, the podcast hosted by Amy Levin. Take the time to download it now; it is the ideal podcast to listen to on your morning commute.

As a senior at Illinois State University double majoring in public relations and fashion merchandising, I stay busy. I am entering my senior year as the president of my school’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. When I am not working on fashion projects or preparing for PRSSA events, I can be found training for my first marathon. I have given myself a year to train for this event. I never realized how much work  and time is spent just planning workouts and nutrition techniques.

My style can be described as transitional. My mornings start early with my marathon training. After that I can be found at the library or local coffee shop. I am also part of the Editorial Society for CollegeFashionista, so I spend roughly two to three hours editing articles. In the afternoon, I have meetings with faculty to discuss plans for the fall semester. When I get dressed in the morning, I plan for my busy day ahead. I am a huge fan of color, and I tend to lean toward solid pieces of clothing. I take inspiration from PANTONE’s seasonal fashion color report for color ideas. This spring and summer season is all about Rose Quartz and Serenity. I also brought an Ice Coffee brown into my look for subtle earth tones. I am a huge fan of maximalism. A few trends that I am excited to see this season are patches, denim skirts, slip dresses, mules, loafers and novelty bags.
