STYLE GURU BIO: Annastasia High

When I was six years old, I had the opportunity to strut as a model in a local fashion show. My mom signed me up and I didn’t really know what I was getting into. I strutted my way in a Lilly Pulitzer outfit and struck a pose. That was when my passion for fashion began.

My name is Annastasia High. I was born in Washington, D.C. to a very fashion-forward family. When I was four years old, I moved to the small town of Peoria, Illinois, then later on I moved to the modern city of Singapore, and am currently a sophomore at Creighton University. I am now living in Omaha, Nebraska. Nebraska doesn’t seem like a fashion-forward city but to my surprise there are many Fashionista’s out there. I hope to shed some light on the Fashionista’s of the Midwest.

I absolutely love fashion. I think it’s a way to express yourself and to show the world, “This is me. This is who I am,” which is something I try and do everyday.

Today, I am wearing a cream-colored, Aztec dress. It’s simple, yet it draws the eyes into the patterned design featured at the top of the dress. I absolutely love this part of the dress because it adds character and detail. I also love the bohemian feature of the subtle flow that breaks the dress. It’s effortless yet flirty. I am featured wearing my Tiffany & Co. bracelet, which is always a must in my eyes. Lastly, the best part, the shoes are a statement from my favorite store, Nordstrom. I believe they spice the look up a bit and make it look much more haute couture than your usual day. I love this whole look because I feel like I can wear it around the house, to a casual lunch, or even out running errands. Most importantly, while wearing it, I feel like I can express myself and tell the world, “this is me” without even communicating who I am. This is what makes me love fashion so much. In the future, when you’re debating on what to wear, I want you to think of who you are as a person, and how you communicate that to the world. I can’t wait to show you more of who I am and help you find the best version of yourselves.
