WHAT TO WEAR: Interview

You spent all of last semester applying to internship after internship. You thought the list of cover letters to write would never end. You edited and re-edited your résumé hundreds of times. And now, finally, you’ve landed an interview for the internship of your dreams. But what to wear?

Interviews can be pretty stressful, but with an outfit that you feel great in, you will have one less thing to worry about. The key is to be polished and professional yet still comfortable, so that you aren’t nervously fidgeting with your clothes when the focus should be on what you’re saying!

This Fashionista is wearing the perfect outfit for an interview. She looks chic while looking confident. She starts with a navy blue pencil skirt. Pencil skirts are great pieces to show your figure while still looking professional. Plus, hers is high-waisted, making her legs look even longer. It hits just above the knee, so she isn’t revealing too much skin. Then, she adds a light blue blouse with dark blue polka-dots. The print is cute and youthful, but it is subtle enough that it doesn’t detract from the professional nature of the ensemble. For shoes, she opts for a pop of color with some wine red wedges. Wedges still have the formality of heels, but they are much more comfortable and easier to walk in. She finishes the outfit with some understated gold jewelry, such as a watch to show her interviewer that she is always on time. A your-lips-but-better pink lipstick adds polish to the look.

One Simple Change: Going on a date to celebrate your aced interview? Switch out the skirt for a pair of faux leather skinny pants and you will have a subtly sexy nighttime look.
