STYLE GURU BIO: Norma Vargas

Hello, fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Norma Vargas. I am a sophomore here at Lake Forest College, double majoring in criminal justice and Latin American studies. I am deeply invested in and passionate about my Mexican roots. I am beyond excited to embark on this journey as a Style Guru.

Adventures are a huge part of my persona. I will most often than not always be doing something exciting. Thrifting has made me realize that love can be strange, considering that most of the time my outfits will consist of articles of clothing that I found in the unknown realms of forgotten clothes. I somehow always seem to find clothes that are cute or vintage. Aside from going on regular adventures, my heart is always open to accepting new adventures when it comes to my style.

My sense of style does not fall into any particular category. When I ask other individuals how they perceive my style, they say that it is just “Norma.” If I had to categorize my style, I would say that I have a grungier look to the majority of my outfits. Black is definitely always a part of my outfit, being that it somehow always creeps into my closet. I also always tend to wear high-waisted pants, and my platform boots are a must-have piece. In this outfit, I used my Etienne Aigner leather purse, which I bought at a thrift store, as a pop up from all of the black. The crop top (which is also from a thrift store) adds some sparkle to this outfit. Last but not least, the trench blazer gives this outfit a classier touch.
