STYLE GURU BIO: Krizia Livia

Ciao Fashionistas! My name is Krizia Livia and I am currently majoring in marketing and fashion merchandising at the University of Georgia. Fashion has always had a great influence in my life, from dancing around in my mom’s heels when I could barely walk on my own, to now constantly obsessing over new trends instead of doing real schoolwork (let’s not tell my parents that, though). My favorite thing about fashion is that designers create clothes each season to guide people into self-expression, but style is what you choose to do with their creations. The ability to follow the styles of students all around me has made me so excited to become a member of the CollegeFashionista team.

I would classify style as a person’s message to the world. As Gianni Versace put it, “Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live.” There are so many influences to a person’s style like surroundings, mood or even the Spotify playlist they listen to while getting dressed.

My first style influence started when I worked as a sales associate at a boutique in my hometown, South Moon Under. This job allowed me to spread my wings and expand my knowledge on different brands, trends and even my own personal style. I wouldn’t limit myself to one specific style; I would rather take countless fashion risks then be confined into one style category. Four years ago I would have never guessed that I would wear purple lipstick, yet now that’s just another detail to a killer edgy outfit. I realize now, no style can be too out of the box if you make it your own. The reward for succeeding in a fashion risk is what keeps me and many others hooked on so many different unknown and upcoming trends.

I cannot wait to be inspired by the people around me and to have the ability to share all my findings with you on CollegeFashionista!
