3 Ways to Style a Sheer Shirt

Summer is officially here and the weather is hot, but the fashion is hotter. Sheer, or mesh, shirts, bodysuits, dresses, and even pants are one of the hottest trends out right now. Here I give to you three different looks all surrounding the same sheer shirt. In each outfit I wear the same mesh shirt and bralette. The shirt is from T.J. Maxx by the brand Antistar and the bralette is from the sale bin in Free People (my guilty pleasure). Each look has a common staple piece; the sheer/mesh shirt, yet all are very different looks.

Look one:

Here is a Kylie Jenner inspired look as she is one of the biggest fashion icons today. My denim shorts are from The L Train Vintage in New York. I could go on for days about my love for thrift shopping; I bought those shorts for $6 (can you say steal?!). Anyone can easily copy this look. Just find a mesh shirt and pair it with a pair of shorts and you’re done! I added a gold body chain from Brandy Melville to give it a more Kylie feel. Throw on a baseball cap or any hat and call it a day! Last but not least, the shoesI came across these in Urban Outfitters one day and I had to have them. They give the outfit a little pop of color but keep it simple and very trendy. Superga shoes are making a huge comeback and I am fully behind the movement. A little platform never hurt anyone, am I right?

Look two:

Okay, let’s talk about how easy this outfit is: a mesh shirt and a jumpsuit. This look is for those lazy days where you’re in a rush but you want to look like you have your life together. I love this look because it looks like a million bucks and extremely high end. The outfits that make you look like you tried really hard but you actually didn’t are my favorite. The jumpsuit trend is tremendously growing and I found this comfy gem at Victoria’s Secret on sale for only $25! I slipped on my Birkenstocks and I was out the door, comfortable all day while killing it.

Look three:

I hold this outfit very dear to my fashion feenin’ heart. Once again, I styled the mesh shirt, but with a white skort. This look is much more dressy than the others but equally as playful. Throw on an oversize denim jacket to bring it down; adding layers is always a good idea. Of course, I had to throw on my beloved pair of Vans, my pride and joy. These are Urban Outfitters exclusives.

I hope you found these different looks helpful and I hope you have just as much fun as I did putting these outfits together! Don’t be scared to try something different! Let me know which look was your favorite and how you would wear a mesh shirt. Show me via social media by tagging @Cfashionista!
