As busy college students, our days are always slam-packed with errands to run and people to see. Take a hint from this Fashionista on how to style a look that’s clean and put together. She was able to pull together the perfect balance of comfy casual with hints of sophistication. The key is to be realistic with your outfit choices and what will be best suit your planned activities.
The first thing that drew me in was her fabulous fur vest. I couldn’t help but think of the fall/winter 2012 runway shows of rag & bone, Alexander Wang and Fendi, all showing fur accents down the catwalk. This Fashonista managed to find this beauty at Marshalls, and what a great find it was. A vest is going to be your best friend when it comes to cold weather and constantly having to go in and out of heavily crowed places. No one wants to be hit with a hot flash while waiting to be cashed out at Starbucks and there is nothing worse than having to lug around a big puffy coat in your arms all day. She paired her vest with a gray long sleeved shirt that had an amazing leather detail on the shoulder. For her bottoms, a dark-wash skinny jean and chestnut brown riding boots are what finished off the look.
One accessory that I couldn’t stop obsessing over was this Fashionista’s hat. The lovely camel colored felt hat was just the right addition to pull together this look, which makes it an accessory risk that paid off. You can find a similar hat at Urban Outfitters in a classic black or jewel toned plum.
To get this Fashionista’s look, pair a dark-wash skinny jean with a classic suede or leather riding boot. For your top, a long sleeve shirt with some type of eye catching detail whether it’s a fun pattern, bold color or leather detailing it will be sure to make a statement along side your fur vest. If your looking for added accessory go for the hat in a neutral tone that complements your colors of choice. This Fashionista stuck to all neutral tones allowing each item to stand out on its own.
One Simple Change: Switch out the gray long sleeve shirt for a sheer long sleeve patterned blouse for a night out to dinner with friends.
