WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

Weekends over the summer can be tricky because after a week of swimsuits and flip flops, it’s easy to want to kick back and relax in Nike shorts and T-shirts. However, that’s not the case for this Fashionista I spotted, who sees every day as an opportunity to dress her best.

I love the look this Fashionista createdso effortlessly dressy. She looks entirely put together, confident and ready to hit the town. When I asked how long it took to get ready, she told me not long at all! For us busy girls on the go, that’s something we all looking for.

What’s her secret? First, the main component of her outfit: her shoes. The tall and strappy cork shoes add a lot of fun, especially when paired with her grungy, ripped jeans. (A similar pair of not-sold-out Charles David sandals with confetti in them are still available, and so cute that I almost “added to cart” myself!) I think the cork aesthetic in these shoes is perfect for dressing up an otherwise casual look. It’s the exact balance between “casual” and “dressy; amping up her outfit from weekend wear to Weekend Wear in five seconds!

Next, this Fashionista’s top: it just screams “Look at my cute summer outfit!” And where else to find a top like that other than Lilly Pulitzer? Tube tops are perfect for this hot summer weather, and the ruffles on this piece give it an added pop of flair. If you want to wear jeans like the look picture, I’d suggest a bright color or patterned top, or if you want to wear white bottoms or colored bottoms, I’d suggest a more solid version!

Last, her wallet is clever used as a statement piece for this outfit. I am firm believer that a wallet can be a purseas long as you own it! The Fashionista’s pink Kate Spade wallet goes perfectly with her top (but you could also try a more neutral color like “crisp linen” to be a neutral item instead of a statement)!

Overall, I love this look and it inspired me to try harder with what I choose to wear on the weekends.
