WHAT TO WEAR: Interviews

Finally, you landed an interview for that job/internship you’ve been talking about! Your portfolio is a treat all the employers would fight to nibble on. Let’s not forget the fact that you’ve researched the company beforehand so you actually have something to talk about in the interview. The only thing left now is to figure out what to wear. AHHH…don’t panic! This will be the easiest and hopefully the least stressful part of the process.

Above all, do NOT wear anything too casual. This is not a date nor is it a night out on the town or prom. Ladies, if you desire to wear a dress make sure it comes below the knee. Guys, basketball sneakers are for the court not the office. Stay away from bulky obnoxious jewelry and heavy cologne/perfumes. You want to look as formal as possible while making yourself stand out from the rest of the applicants. For both Fashionistas and Fashionistos, your selections must be clean, well-fitted and ironed with absolutely no damages in the material. You are what you wear so why wear something trashy if you’re not trash?

Today’s featured Fashionisto has hit all the key areas in his style selection. Let’s start with his suit: this Fashionisto is sporting a gray Oscar de la Renta suit which was actually made in the ’90s. The suit had been a hand-me-down from his father that was still in excellent condition, although, after getting the suit tailored to his personal fit, you would have thought the suit was made for him. He chose to pair this suit with a black button-up, black tie and a pair of black low-cut Hugo Boss boots with a gold watch and other gold pieces of jewelry. Although the gray suit has a formal appearance, the gold accents of his jewelry make him stand out from his competition.

One Simple Change: By ditching the tie and undoing the first to buttons of the button-up you can turn this look from interview ready to date night with your special someone.
