WHAT TO WEAR: Errands

I spotted this Fashionista on a dreary rainy day in Morgantown. I thought she looked adorable and comfortable, which can be hard to come by at times, especially in this rainy weather we’ve been having. I stopped her to ask for a mini photo shoot and she told me she was just out running errands for a special dinner she had planned, so I thought she’d be perfect for this week’s post.

To start, she chose a simple gray-blue V-neck with a small pocket detail on top of black, mesh-like chevron-printed shorts for a perfect mix of textures. For her busy day, this Fashionista chose a cute and comfy pair of gray Keds, perfect for running all over town. A simple set of diamond studs gave her just the right amount of glam, without overpowering the outfit, and to accommodate the chilly rain, she went with a light, gray marbled cardigan to top off her look. Add to that her adorable matching chevron wristlet for a look that said, “Yes, I’m busy, but I can still be cute, too!”

One Simple Change: This effortless look for running errands could be quickly transformed into a great look for meeting the parents, which just so happens to be the special dinner she was planning. Trade the Keds for a blinged-out pair of sandals, the studs for a small set of dangling earrings and add a dainty statement necklace to give yourself the perfect look for impressing the parents. In just those small changes, they will be able to see that you are incredibly fashionable, but that you don’t try too hard (and that you don’t need to try too hard). You care about your looks, but not more so than anything else, which will be very important in their list of qualities they are looking for!
