WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

As I was taking a casual afternoon stroll through the McGill campus, my eye was caught by a couple of chatting and laughing girls. The two outfits were of contrasting styles, but their shared love for a pair of rad sunnies and some trustee Converse was obvious. The casual-chic that they carried themselves with really stood them out and I just could not help but approach them.

Our first Fashionista on the left, sported a minimalistic look. She wore a pair of classic, black overalls with a very flattering silhouette. She paired it with a striped, collared shirt and a vintage, leather purse. Her attention to detail really accentuated the look, with the patterns of her shades echoing her purse, and a pop of gold on her hand.

The second Fashionista, on the other hand, went with the fool-proof denim jacket and floral skirt combination. To keep the outfit coherent, she wore a simple black T-shirt with a pair of black Converse. Her reflective sunglasses complete the look, adding a little bit of an edge to an otherwise feminine and cute outfit.

These two looks are perfect for a casual brunch date with your girlfriends. Whether you are more preppy or girly, you can brunch in style.

One Simple Change: If you and your friends decide to ditch a chill brunch day for a wild festival event, you can still make the ballpark of these outfits work with a few simple changes! Swtich out the first Fashionista’s collared shirt for a black, strappy bralette, and add a flower crown for a subtle touch of the boho, festival vibe. For the second Fashionista’s look, keep the cute, floral skirt on but pair it with a breezy, off-the-shoulder white top and opt for a pair of black combat boots for a touch of grunge.
