Summer Skincare Essentials

Skincare and makeup can be hard to master in the summer, but the trick is to pick a few staples that multitask. I’ve selected a few products that work best for me. However, since everyone has different skin types and product preferences, these are just suggestions.

First, let’s talk skincare. My summer mantra is moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. I always use a moisturizer with SPF, but in the summer for a little boost, I use the Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner. Apply this on clean skin to hydrate your skin and make it glow. It’s perfect for summer because it soaks right into the skin, so it doesn’t feel like there’s a lot of product on your face. Natural products also have a refreshing smell, which is an added bonus.

Another product that I especially love in the summer is the Origins No-Puffery Cooling Roll-On Eye Gel. This product is great for reducing under-eye bags and darkness. After applying this product you almost don’t need concealer. This eye gel also reduces puffiness, which is great if you were out late the night before or stayed in the sun for too long.

My go-to product to getting bronzed, glowing skin is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal. This golden highlighter is perfect for summer because it has just the right amount of golden sparkle. It even makes your skin looks sun-kissed, no matter how pale you are.

Another summertime essential is setting spray. My favorite is the Urban Decay All Nighter. Just a few sprays will make your makeup last all day and all night, no matter how hot and sweaty you are. This spray also controls oil and shine, so your makeup will look fresh all day.

Lips are last but not least. I usually wear nude matte lipsticks, but in the summer I’ll choose a glossy, colorful lip color. My favorite is the Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment. This product is nourishing and it has SPF 15 to protect your lips from the summer sun.
