STYLE GURU STYLE: The Minimum

Less can create more for the eye to imagine.  That’s how it felt viewing the 3.1 Phillip Lim spring 2015 ready-to-wear line on Style.com. Nothing comes off as too overbearing and loud; each look in the collection is very clean and simple from the color choices to the pattern and styling.

The collection reminds me of a beautiful Saturday afternoon; an afternoon where you’re enjoying the weather downtown, sight-seeing with friends and having a good time.

As I browsed through site, I didn’t know where to really start. Skimming through pictures and articles lead me on the right track until I found a little more inspiration to look further than names I’m used to seeing. I’m glad for that inspiration because this collection is something that sticks with me, and I learned of something new. Along with oversized sweaters and leggings, basic and simple outfits make me even happier.

STYLE GURU STYLE is a way to show off your creativity and have some fun while doing it. I wanted to re-create an outfit based on looks 13, 20 and 35 of the collection because they stood out to me the most. The way each top and bottom was designed made each look very unique.

For my look, I have a white crop top and I paired it with my favorite harem pants from Rue 21. For the shoes, I picked my tan heels from Bonnibel and chose a black cross-body bag from Spirit for the accessory.

Get My Look: 1. White crop top. 2. Black pants. 3. Tan heels.
