STYLE GURU STYLE: One Last Call For Wool

The pre-fall 2015 Burberry Prorsum show had me inspired to debut my newest vintage find; a wool jacket that will probably be finding the back of my closet sooner rather than later if this warm weather keeps it up. Nonetheless, I thought I would feature it as we slowly start to transition out of the jacket-wearing domain, giving it one last outing to promote its funky chicness. I found this gem while out and about on a vintage shop hop in my hometown and I knew it had to become a part of my wardrobe. While Burberry Prorsum may be a stray away from the vintage vibe, I found some cozy similarities in many of its pre-fall looks.

I consider myself to be a rather simple statement person when it comes to fashion, so I thought this wool coat would definitely fit into my everyday wear. I decided to keep the rest of my look more on the low-key side as well, letting my scarf and purse do most of the color popping. I donned a black turtleneck with some ribbed moto skinny jeans and finished it off with my favorite mustard scarf and some fringed boots. The fringed booties were also a recent add, finding their suede and cute side details too good to pass up. Without the jacket, my outfit seems to delve towards a simple ’70s influenced outfit, but adding the wool jacket in some shots added a classy and sophisticated twist to the ensemble. I love outfits that can easily be transformed by adding a layer or a certain style coat. With us college students not having a lot of time to transition our outfits between our various events, it is nice to have pieces like this that can make that transition rather simple. With regards to this wool coat, it is sometimes bittersweet to find items at the end of their reign, but it is definitely one of those pieces that I will look forward to wearing when the chillier seasons make their yearly debut again.

Get My Look: 1. Wool jacket. 2. Moto skinnies. 3. Black turtleneck.
