STYLE GURU STYLE: Nothing but Neutrals

Imagine getting to spend these last few days of your summer vacation at a tropical location of your choosing. Whether it may be the Bahamas or St. Lucia, Josie Natori’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection gives you an island vacation feel with a high fashion touch.

Natori drew most of her inspiration for this collection from her home in the Philippines. The collection features an array of neutrals and brights to provide us with what ever girl wants in an outfit: options.

Hoping to embody this simple style and island feels, I went for a handful of neutral colors that I thought could correspond to the collection. Of course, with it being summer, I went for a summer staple: the maxi dress. The army green maxi dress from Forever 21 is made of a super soft, breathable fabric and features a deep slit on the left side for when your leg feels like it needs to be seen. It adds a sexy touch to a basic dress.

My favorite piece of the outfit was the result of a BOGO sale! The pale pink duster has three-quarter sleeves, two corresponding slits on the side and is made of a super lightweight fabric making it a perfect summer cover up.  This reminded me of the sandy white duster featured on the cover of Natori’s show.

Keeping the accessories simple, I paired the outfit with nude buckle heels and a fabulous metal gold choker to keep all eyes on the complete outfit.

Get My Look: 1. Any soft colored duster. 2. Pale colored maxi dress. 3. Nude pointy heels.
