STYLE GURU STYLE: Navy And Patterns

Who said you can’t mix navy and black or different prints and textures? Many people are afraid to mix all of these into one look, but today I want to show you that you can! It may seem a bit scary at first, but once you start to mix and match all these colors, patterns and textures, you’re going to be a pro!

The newest Emilio Pucci collection has done a great job of mixing different patterns and textures. The line has taken a new creative director, Massino Giorgetti, who has done an amazing job for this collection, which launched last month. “It’s like the pilot of Game of Thrones, the episode where you see this world, these characters, for the first time,” Giorgetti explained to Style.com. The collection was full of fun patterns and bright colors, but Giorgetti was able to work pops of color into more subtle colored looks.

For my outfit, I took inspiration from look 17. Pucci’s look had a patterned black and white button-down shirt layered underneath a black lace top. It was paired with some navy trousers, black sandals and sunglasses. I found this navy and white jumpsuit while on vacation and fell in love with the pattern. Like the resort 2016 collection, this jumpsuit has an oversized proportion to it. To add more of a waistline, I incorporated a belt, which I may or may not have taken from my brother. For accessories, I wore a pair of black sandals and sunglasses, similar to the Emilio Pucci look, but a lot less expensive. I also wore a woven sunhat and beaded clutch to add some texture.

Get My Look: 1. Navy jumpsuit. 2. Black sunglasses. 3. Hat.
