STYLE GURU STYLE: Grunge Florals

In the resort 2016 fashion season, Stella McCartney incorporated many different elements in her collection. Her interesting twist of different florals balanced out the neutral toned basic pieces. In her fashion show, the different looks were a mix of grungy florals and ’80s glam. The floral looks included dresses and pant suits, as well as a sporty mix with a jacket to match the long skirt with the floral design. This show interests me the most because it has a mix of grunge and glam—also, because it resembles my style the most on a daily basis. I try to mix in sporty and edgy looks, while also incorporating a girly feminine look.

The way I translated the runway trends into my look is definitely the floral aspect. The jumper that I wore resembles the floral that was present in the collection. I added a pair of platforms to add a grunge feel because the runway looks were slightly grunge with the dark pieces of the collection. I added a choker and a long necklace to add more edge because the jumpsuit definitely took over in this look. Plus, the neckline was the perfect amount of space for the necklace duo. One of the common themes in this collection was definitely floral and jumpsuit pieces and I wanted to incorporate that as much as possible which is why this jumpsuit is perfect for this look.

Stella McCartney’s collection in all was a very diverse collection that incorporated different looks that would be suitable for the girly glam woman, or the edgy and grungy girl who is not afraid to be outside her comfort zone.

Get My Look: 1. Any floral jumpsuit. 2. Flatforms. 3. Choker necklace duo.
