STYLE GURU STYLE: From the Runway to the Street

Casual street looks are becoming more and more popular on the runway. Designers are mixing the latest bombers and leather jackets with trendy sneakers and jeans. A lot of these looks are coming from the ‘90s—what goes around comes around. Now we are starting to see the biggest celebrities strut this style. It is simple, comfy, easy to achieve and still very stylish.

This look was inspired by Rag & Bone’s fall 2016 ready-to-wear line. This line drew my attention because they take casual, basic pieces and make them very unique and detailed. The line included many bomber jackets, boyfriend-styled jeans, leather jackets and even sweat pants.

This trend is great because there are many possibilities as to how to wear it. If you want to dress it down, you can wear athletic pants; if you want to dress it up, you can wear booties or a chic leather jacket. I chose to wear a leather jacket over a cropped T-shirt. I wore ripped jeans along with my Michael Kors gold and white sneakers (I am in love with these shoes). Since this trend takes from the ‘90s, I decided to wear my hair in a half ponytail. I decided not to wear any jewelry because the jacket already has a lot of zippers and buttons.

I love wearing this look to class because not only is it cute, it is comfortable, too! It’s a win-win situation for everyone. Anyone can pull off this look!! You can also adjust it to fit your own personal style. This is a great look for back-to-school. With the right pieces, you can make it your own look and be one of the most stylish on campus.
