STYLE GURU STYLE: Dress Code Expertise

I am not going to lie. I enjoy wearing business casual clothing and dressing up. Since attending private schools all my life, I am used to dressing up within a certain dress code. Dress codes are a great way of challenging one’s fashion expertise. At Central Michigan University, I am a clerical employee. Having a clerical position at Central Michigan University means I am setting an example when visitors arrive. When being an ambassador, there will be dress codes.

kate spade‘s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection is a great example of a professional and chic, yet spunky style. The professional ensembles in the collection inspired my word ready ensemble. My outfit consists of a sophisticated red blazer and a black and blue striped top with khaki pants. The blazer’s hue is highly vivid; however, it’s still sophisticated and professional. This blazer can be worn in a work setting with a pair of slacks or a skirt. Blazers can be worn anywhere besides strictly a professional environment. For example, if you are going on a lunch outing with the girls, a pair of boyfriend jeans would be a magnificent match with this blazer.

The khaki pants I wore are made of a viscose material that stretches along with the body. These pants are not only professional but also comfortable. This exact stretch style is from The Limited. I love this store, because they have a good range of fitted pants. These pants achieve good fit, comfort and style. In the winter, one would have to tuck their pants in boots in order to keep them dry or to create a solid style. This skinny style is perfect for winter because I can easily wear my boots over these pants without any bulges or troubles.

Get My Look: 1. Vivid blazer. 2. Exact stretch pants. 3. A striped top.
