STYLE GURU STYLE: Color-Blocking Glam

This summer, all I need is a maxi dress, a bright lip and good pair of sandals. While I see these as staple items that keep me looking put together when I have work and assignments, I thought I’d hone in on some inspiration I received from the Lanvin resort 2016 collection. This collection was loaded with colors, oversized jewelry and shoulder bags galore.

I managed to effortlessly get this same style and made it my own by pairing a purple crop top with this pink maxi dress. I loved how the accessories were paired with the model’s outfits, so I thought this black rhinestone statement necklace would do the trick. I kept my purse and scarf black to tone the overall outfit down a bit and keep things more relaxed. I never thought I’d be the girl to pull off color-blocking, but Lanvin made this pink and purple combo look so chic and still slightly doable. I received many compliments going to and from class.

Just as the model did, I kept my makeup very light, using just my Clinique BB Cream and a little bit of e.l.f blush and bronzing powder. To make this look extra classy and to tie the look together, I lined my eyes, brushed on some mascara and swiped on a nice layer of my Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm.

Get My Look: 1. A maxi dress. 2. Long sleeve crop top in a contrasting color. 3. Statement necklace.
