STYLE GURU STYLE: Cherry Red

It’s probably too early to even be thinking about the fall season, let alone talking about it, but Alexander McQueens fall 2015 ready-to-wear-collection has reason to be talked about.

I gained inspiration from the fourth look, the bright pop of red really intrigued me and I wanted to create a fun summery look that had that fun pop of color incorporated in it. McQueen’s collection consisted of a neutral color palette that consisted mainly of two colors-black and sand. The other colors that were used consisted of a cherry red, a deep maroon, a raspberry pink and bright white. The collection had an intense gothic appeal towards it, with lace and long skirts, pleats and leather that gave his entire collection a feminine yet edgy appeal.

Red is, and forever will be, a classic piece. Doesn’t matter the shade of lipstick, if it’s a pair of earrings or an elegant dress; red will always be that one color everyone turns too when they want a classy chic look. So I gained inspiration from McQueen’s color palette, and I added my own spunk to make it more summer appropriate-and fun.

My outfit includes a plain white shirt from J.Crew tucked into pineapple patterned shorts from Francesca’s Boutique. To add that cherry red color, I incorporated a kate spade new york statement necklace and my go-to summer accessory (sunhat). I even went and added on my favorite Revlon lipstick, Love That Pink, to top it all off.

Get My Look: 1. Any patterned shorts. 2. A plain shirt. 3. A red colored sunhat.
