STYLE GURU STYLE: Aren't You Glad(iator) I Wore These Booties?

So, as I have said before, I LOVE heels! People are constantly assuming that I am 5’10” because I basically never leave the house without a pair. It’s hard to say what is so great about them. Is it the empowerment of being taller than every male within a 30-foot radius? Is it the click of the heels as you strut down the street? Whatever the reason, they are a staple in my wardrobe, and this day was no exception.

We went to celebrate my brother’s 18th birthday. Naturally, several friends and family gathered in Oceanside, California to watch him fall through the air. That’s right—skydiving! A casual day of weird, muggy weather and pizza was by no means a day without heels. Despite the weather gone wrong, forcing the company to cancel my brother’s leap into the air (and adulthood), I was determined to look cute in my new shoes.

Spring 2015 runway shows saw gladiator sandals galore. The trends have slowly trickled down to fast fashion madhouses like Forever 21. Spending what feels like most of my free time at the chain, I snagged a pair of gladiator boots, just like the ones in the Chloé spring 2015 ready-to-wear show. Every celebrity rocks them, so I gathered my summer job money and grabbed an olive green pair that I am obsessed with. The pair I bought was a bit more casual, translating into an everyday look flawlessly. I wore them with a denim tunic-dress and circular sunnies. This outfit was perfect for a fun day out and about in California.

Get My Look: 1. Fun gladiator booties. 2. A denim dress.  3. Edgy sunglasses.
