STYLE GURU STYLE: Addicted to Sneakers

Have you heard the latest? The sneaker trend is here to stay! Recently, Burberry’s spring show featured many color-blocked, high end sneakers. The great thing about sneakers is that you can literally take them from the runway to the streets. For a brand as classic as Burberry, their use of sneakers in their looks is a very welcomed twist. The athletic meets chic look reigns all over the runways, magazines and streets. So when I, an avid sneaker addict, saw that this trend was making a pronounced comeback, I had to join in.

I decided on this rainy day to keep the top half of my look simple and let the shoes do all the talking. My A-line leather skirt has become a staple in my wardrobe for any occasion. For this look, I paired it with a long, soft, cotton T-shirt. This shirt has some beautiful sheer detailing on the bottom that compliments the edginess of the skirt perfectly. To keep myself warm I added another layer with a printed scarf and then some opaque black tights. I also threw one some frilly grey socks to add more warmth to my look. Now, time for the main event. These adidas Stan Smith sneakers are anything but traditional. The floral print is very vibrant and I instantly fell in love with the hot pink details. Who says you can’t throw on sneakers with a skirt? These keep my look comfortable and cute while still being put together. And if you’ve got a gloomy day like mine, spice things up with a fun polka-dot umbrella.

Get My Look: 1. Any long, layered top. 2. A leather skirt. 3. The sneakers.
