STYLE GURU BIO: Tiffany Turner

Hi! My name is Tiffany Turner and I’m full of pride and gratitude to officially announce that I am a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I should start this off by letting you know that I am starting my second semester as a freshman at University of Houston majoring in retail and consumer sciences (as of now, specializing in fashion merchandising).

Although fashion is my main interest in life, I have a love for several other things that make my world go round as well. I spend a lot of my days discovering and listening to music. I enjoy writing journal entries and poems on my pastime, and speaking of, I also have a blog of my own that I share some on! I’m very much into videography and photography because it allows me to capture moments and memories of my life that I found meaningful or beautiful at that point in time.

Most of my first memories from my childhood consist of having fashion shows in my home modeling in my mom’s dresses and heels, dreaming of one day wearing them on a red carpet. I have always had a love for fashion and old photos will definitely show how much I experimented with my style over the years. Some were very questionable, but some were quite trendy for a 12 year old’s sense of style. I have evolved my fashion sense by reading at least 150 magazines since I was eight, stalking style inspirations on social media and plastering one of my entire bedroom walls in magazine cutouts that are constant, daily inspirations. My current style would best be described as ’90s inspired, edgy, romantic and hipster (Does it still count if you call yourself a hipster? Oops…oh well.). I am one to express myself through my fashion sense. Every outfit is an expression of how I am feeling that particular day. One of my top fashion rules to make my fashion sense a little different from others is to add a twist to every outfit to authenticate my unique style.

I am very excited to take on this internship, and represent my university! I applied to become a Style Guru because I always spot new trends and even enjoy trying them out myself. Fashion is used by many who are passionate about it as a form of art to express themselves, and that is my favorite part about it all. This is going to be an interesting semester as I spot the trends and trendsetters on my campus, as well as eye-opening to see how others feel about fashion on my campus and around the world. I hope you enjoy my future articles and notice my love and appreciation for fashion!
