Hello, fellow Fashionistas/os. My name is Tiffany, and this will be my fourth semester writing for CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru! It will also be my very first semester as an editorial intern. After completing my undergrad degree last year, I continued my studies at the Toronto Film School in a marketing for fashion & entertainment program. I hope to work in fashion event planning. My dream is to work as an official event planner for Tiffany & Co.

My style has always been very classic. I love neutral colors and I love basics. Now that it has started to get warmer in Toronto (warm weather only lasts for about three months here) I want to try to be more adventurous with my style. This summer I will be adding little pops of color into my outfits. Nothing says classic like a black shirt dress and nothing feels more like a risk than a bright pink lipstick.

As a classic girl, a bulk of my closet are little black dresses (LBDs). I own so many LBDs because they are slimming and let my lip colors pop. If you want to make your lip color stand out, wear a black or a white dress with simple detailing so that the viewer’s eye is drawn towards your lips. I’m wearing a black shirt dress with a gold zipper and cuffed up sleeves with a snap button. For a Fashionista with a larger chest, a zipper is ideal because the zipper can be adjusted to become the perfect neckline. If someone with a larger chest were to wear a shirt dress with buttons, there could be excessive puckering in the chest area. For a Fashionista with a smaller chest, a shirt dress with buttons is a great way to bring attention to the chest area. I’m a pretty short girl, so I look for dresses that hit mid-thigh so I can seem taller. This dress also has a drawstring waist to help accentuate my curves. Your body is beautiful, so you should love it and flaunt it.

On my lips, I’m wearing a bright matte MAC lipstick in “Have Your Cake.” I actually got this lipstick as a present from a fellow CollegeFashionista during our Valentine’s Day exchange. I never thought that I would be a girl who could wear bright pink lipstick, but I truly believe that this is a color that looks fantastic on almost everyone.

For a classic girl, bright pink lips is a push into the realm of adventurous. I am excited to further push my style forward in this coming semester.
