STYLE GURU BIO: Simone Wiley

First, let me start off by introducing myself. I’m Simone Wiley, a Fashion Design student at Drexel University in Philadelphia. Welcome to my bio! As much as I want to tell you all about me, I’ll just let you in on the important stuff. I have three loves in life: fashion, food and traveling.

Fashion has been apart of me since I was a child. I would watch my mother effortlessly put together fabulous outfits for work every single morning. From then on, I knew what world I wanted to be in. Soon after, fashion became an important extension of my life. When fashion isn’t on my mind, food takes over. It’s another passion of mine. In the summer, you’ll probably always catch me either shopping or eating at a new restaurant. I hope there is a time in my life where I will get to travel as often as possible. With fashion and food, traveling is always involved. So perhaps it’s bound to happen sometime!

So now let’s talk about my style. Like everybody, my style has evolved throughout the years. Can you believe that I went through a goth phase? However, at 19, my style is quite simple. I stick to a basic color palette of white, navy, black and sometimes a pop of color. I like simple cuts and no fuss details. Every once in a while, I’ll throw a dress on. For the evening, I try to keep it original by incorporating some menswear inspiration.

There are many awesome things about fashion. To me, the most awesome fact about fashion is that it makes no commitment to trends and colors and it changes when it wants to. Fashion is not afraid to stand out and be different.

For this summer, I challenge you to have that same mentality with you own style. Try something new. You might find a new style. CollegeFashionista is the perfect platform to start with!
