Hi my name is Shelby and I’m a textile and fashion design major at the University of Wisconsin Madison! I’m very excited about being a part of the CollegeFashionista team this summer. I’ll be keeping you all updated on what us Wisconsinites wear in the summer (no it’s not winter jackets year round. Although I did have to use mine until late April this year.)
I’m the second oldest of five siblings of which the oldest is 21 and the youngest is six. I grew up in the country in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Playing soccer and hockey were big parts of my life from the age of five until I graduated high school. I didn’t know where I wanted to go to college or what I really wanted to do, so the only place I applied was the University of Wisconsin- Madison. So lucky for me that I got accepted, because being a Badger has been a great experience thus far.
Aside from that here are a few fun facts about me! I never really knew what I wanted to do for my major until I took my first apparel design class and was hooked. If I could be any Kardashian it would be Kylie, because then I’d get all the free lip kits I wanted and also have you seen her closet??? (I have, because I follow her on Snapchat, which I’d highly recommend). As I’m typing this I’m mentally preparing myself to see my idol Beyoncé in concert where I’ll probably be crying the entire time, because I’ll be so happy. Which brings me to my next fun fact: I cry all the time. I also have a Dumbledore quote tattooed on my forearm. I’m a Harry Potter lover in case you didn’t get that from my previous sentence. Oh, also I love to lip sync and it’s a goal of mine to somehow get on Jimmy Fallon so I can challenge him to a battle.
