Hey everyone! I’m Samantha. I’m 21 and studying Fashion Merchandising and fashion media at Kent State University. I am currently living in New York City and studying at the Kent State NYC studio as well as interning for Showroom 212.
Studying away from small town Kent, Ohio is not a new experience for me. Last summer, I was granted to amazing opportunity to study abroad in Paris and attend the Paris American Academy. There I participated in Paris Haute Couture week and actually got to work the shows for designers like Ralph and Russo! The experience of being in the heart of so many different aspects of the industry really reassured me that this was my passion!
I’ve always had a love for expressing myself through fashion. When I was younger I went to a private school where we wore uniforms. Everyday I would beg my mom to let me wear “regular” clothes. I would try and council my fellow classmates into having a fashion sense. I think I was the only eight year old that was concerned with whether or not the boys socks matched their shirts.
I love being a girly girl! Handbags, heels and lipstick are an everyday musts for me! Although, my favorite accessory would most definitely have to be my two year old Morkie, Manhattan. I think pearls and polka dots go with everything and there is never a wrong time to wear pink! J.Crew and kate spade always find their way into my wardrobe and I would like to think my style is a cross between Jackie Kennedy and Blair Waldorf!
