STYLE GURU BIO: Phoebe Glawe

Hey Fashionistas/os! My name is Phoebe Glawe and I am currently a journalism student at Northern Arizona University. I just wrapped up my first year of college and cannot believe how fast it went! This year I learned so many valuable lessons including staying true to my own style. I came across a Coco Chanel quote earlier in the year that says “Fashion fades, style is forever.” This has been my mantra throughout my (short) collegiate career.

As I said earlier, I am a journalism student, and my absolute goal in life is to become an editor of a women’s fashion magazine. It is definitely an ambitious goal, but it is one that I will continue to work to achieve. The fashion industry has always been incredibly important to me because I see it as a unifier of artistic mediums and a way for designers and models alike to express themselves, their stories and their points of view.

Ever since I was little, I expressed myself through fashion; albeit, pink tutus, sparkly tulle and hot pink feather boas were probably not best fashion moments. However, as I have grown up so has my style. As of now, my style is mostly black, band shirts, booties, tanks, flowy shirts and natural makeup. In my eyes, fashion does not have to be a culmination of just vibrant colors and exotic patterns. I believe that often times, the simplest of patterns and colors are the most powerful and beautiful.

Thank you for reading a little about me, and I can’t wait to show you guys all of the beautiful and unique styles that I see throughout the Phoenix area! Fashion is an opportunity to show strength, confidence and originality, and I hope you all find inspiration to create your never fading style.
