STYLE GURU BIO: Megan DeVice

Greetings Fashionistas! My name is Megan DeVice and I am one of the newest CollegeFashionista Style Gurus representing Florida State University. I am ecstatic to start exploring style on a whole new level this spring semester.

When people ask me what I’m majoring in, I confidently tell them retail, merchandising and product development. It is something I am proud to say since fashion is something I’ve always loved. It most definitely makes my major worthwhile as I aspire to put this degree to good use in the industry one day.

My love for fashion began in the fourth grade when I started to keep a sketchbook of clothing designs that my little fourth grade self would proudly create. I promise you, this sketchbook was full with detailed illustrations of the clothing I wanted to wear but couldn’t find in stores (as I told my mom). I’ll never forget my teacher asking me to stay after class to show her all my designs; which basically made me feel famous. Little did my teacher know, she gave me confidence at such a young age, and probably without her even knowing it, it’s something I will remember forever.

Although my fourth grade years have passed, I still feel as upbeat about fashion now as I did then. Lately, my style is simple. A pair of cut-offs and booties is ideal. Just as they say with makeup, less is more. I highly enjoy effortless looks—plain Jane is cool in my book. However, you can never go wrong with bold intricate details that give much character and life to an outfit such as my favorite Free People dress. I always tell myself it’s great to keep an open mind because to me, a little bit of edge never goes out of style.

I’m super excited to use CollegeFashionista as an outlet to express my creativity this spring. I look forward to learning and gaining even more inspiration from my fellow Style Gurus! Hope you stick around to see what’s to come!
