Hello Fashionistas/os!

I am in complete disbelief that I am starting my fifth semester with CollegeFashionista! Time truly flies. Currently, I am taking summer business classes, continuing my pursuit of my marketing and management degrees. I have also added an apparel merchandising minor to my workload, which has proven be a great creative outlet. There is nothing better than going from discussing cash flows and perpetuities to exploring Givenchy and Hermès.

Every semester, I try to focus on a different fashion trend to incorporate into my wardrobe. In the past, I have dabbled with mixing patterns, embracing monochromatic clothing and wearing animal prints. This semester, I want to focus on adding more color into my wardrobe. Currently, my outfits heavily lack color. Let’s just say that it’s a good thing that black always matches black. This semester I want to focus on adding more colorful, quirky pieces such as this spunky lemon dress.

I have slowly started working towards my goal. For example, in this outfit I wore a patterned black and white dress with yellow sleeve detailing. Although this is only a splash of color, this is far more pigment than my wardrobe has seen in a long time. I accessorized simply with a pair of black pointed-toe heels. If I were to redo this outfit, I would add more color, maybe with yellow heels or a bright pink lipstick. Overall, I thought the outfit was a great way to start this semester! Stay tuned to see my progress.
