STYLE GURU BIO: Lizzie Wright

Hi guys! I’m Lizzie, and I’m a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I’m from California, a beach city in the middle of Orange County about an hour south of L.A. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone for college, and Madison was certainly that. I’ve fallen in love with Wisconsin’s charm and insatiable school spirit, and I can’t wait to spend the next three years here as I continue to pursue my career goals and explore my personal style.

Speaking of careers, I’m majoring in Economics here at Wisconsin. I’m not entirely sure what I want to do with my life, but moving to New York as soon as college ends is pretty much my dream. I would love to attend business school in the city and take off from there, and a career in the business aspect of the fashion industry would combine two of my greatest interests.

I have always been a creative person, jumping from dance to art to film when I was younger, and my girly-girl side came out as I matured and became interested in everything beauty-related. High school was truly where I combined my creativity with my newfound appreciation for self-expression, and it was then when I developed a love for fashion. I’m not going to lie, I’m extremely high maintenance (more than I want to be at times!)––so choosing what to wear each morning was anything but a chore.

My personal style varies on an everyday basis; I love pieces with a lot of structure, but I’ll often throw on denim shorts for a more “beachy vibe.” Despite my ever-changing style moods, I love that this website encourages girls to look and feel their best in college, where the norm is often to throw on sweats on the way to class. I hope to encourage people my age to look at clothing as more than just a part of their morning routine and highlight the creativity of the students around me in doing so!
