STYLE GURU BIO: Leona Juan

Hey babes! I’m Leona Juan, and I am a sophomore at Rutgers University-New Brunswick studying journalism and media studies. Even though I do not attend a school that offers fashion, I still incorporate it into my everyday life. Whether it be looking online at the newest trends or reading magazines, it is something that I cannot go a day without doing. I spend a lot of my time online shopping and deciding what lipstick color to wear. I feel that fashion and makeup go hand-in-hand; they are both ways to express yourself.

I’ve loved fashion for as long as I can remember. Even when I was still very young, I would draw girls with my own designs and mix and match outfits on my Barbie dolls. For as long as I can remember, being a part of the fashion world was always my dream. Throughout the 19 years I have been alive, I have seen my style and skills change but never my interest in fashion. Now, as a college student, I love being able to meet new people and seeing all the different types of styles that they have. I’m so excited to be doing CollegeFashionista because I now have a chance to show off the diverse and awesome styles that surround me every day.

I would not put a direct label on my style. Some days I’ll want to dress girly while others I’m fine with just dressing comfy and casual. Staples in my closet are chunky heels, T-shirt dresses and turtlenecks. Living in New Jersey, the weather changes so quickly. I always have a variety of clothes ready just in case the weather goes haywire. My outfits are always paired with a necklace, lipstick and my sunglasses—I can’t leave without them!

If I’m not online shopping on my phone, I’m usually found on my Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. Many of my fashionable adventures will be found of there as well!

Wishing everyone a fashionable semester!
