STYLE GURU BIO: Jocelyn Morales

I’m a 20-year-old college student that is currently living in the big city of Chicago. I was born and raised in Ventura, California where I grew to love the nice weather and beaches. I then moved to Colorado where I learned how to appreciate nature and have a love for the Rocky Mountains and hiking. Now I’m in the city of Chicago which is filled with an enormous amount of adventures that I enjoy participating in, especially during summer. I especially enjoy attending all the festivals that Chicago has to offer. Lollapalooza, Pitchfork, Mamby on the Beach, Riot Fest, Warped Tour and North Coast are a couple I have had the pleasure of attending.

Fashion and music are two passions of mine that I have acquired as a child and continue to grow a passion for. Once festival season is over then I tend to go to many coffee shops and concerts. Nothing is more calming than getting work done in a nice coffee shop with a nice iced chai. When it comes to hobbies, I enjoy sewing, sketching, painting and reading the latest Vogue and Nylon issue. Everyday for me is a day that has to be filled with music and a good outfit to go with my mood and weather. I can listen to Death Cab for Cutie for hours while reading my Morrissey autobiography and still pause to think about what shoes I should wear the next day.

I always try not to be boring and always aim for creativity everyday. I always try to record the highlight of my day in a journal to make sure I remember these moments as sometimes that can spark inspiration for a painting or design. Just in case I ever do become a well-known and respected haute couture designer, I have records of the many things and ideas that lead to certain designs.
