STYLE GURU BIO: Jess Bowman

When I was little I used to dress up in my mom’s old bridesmaid dresses and formal attire from the ’80s, equipped with her heels and handbags (cause one was never enough). I would even sneak into her bathroom and test out all of her makeup. Safe to say I was never ‘sneaky’ as a five-year-old in heels seven sizes too big, dresses five feet too long and trailing at least four purses behind me, but she saw how much I loved it all so she’d just pretend she didn’t see me. I have always loved fashion and when I was little I knew it as dress up.

When I started college I had no idea what I wanted to do. By chance, I took a journalism class and LOVED it! Now I am a strategic communications major at the University of Kansas and have the amazing opportunity to write for this incredible company.

In the pictures above (thanks to my sis for making me look good), I’m wearing my oh so fabulous Baldwin Denim jeans, along with my Lucky Brand wedges that will be my go to shoe if I ever enter a 5K in heels. My Ray-Ban aviators that are practically glued to my face and my favorite red lip that is the incredible velvet matte by Christian Louboutin in rouge. To top it off a leather jacket by Free People that I can’t get enough of.

As a fabulous women once said, “Style is for yourself, but fashion is for everyone.”
