STYLE GURU BIO: Heba Saeed

Hello fellow Style Gurus, Fashionista/os and fashion enthusiasts. My name is Heba Saeed, and I am currently a senior majoring in interior architecture at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Although I’ve lived in Madison my entire life, my body has never gotten used to the below zero, crazy, winter days. So nothing makes me happier than feeling the warmth of the sun and not having to shuffle around anymore. I no longer have to look like a marshmallow in my over-sized winter coat and heavy boots. With that being said, that transition from winter to summer can be tricky as a hijabi. Since I’m always covered from head to toe, how do I keep cool in the summer and stay stylish at the same time? Loose-fitting clothing is key. It allows you to move freely and let the air circulate so you can stay cool throughout the day.

My personal favorite trend for the summer is fringe. Whether it’s fringe vests or dresses, I’m sold. H&M’s Coachella collection always is an inspiration for me when the weather begins to get warmer. I love their bold colors and patterns, but I decided to go for a more mellow, neutral, Coachella vibe for my outfit. I decided to pair my tan dress with a black suede fringe vest, leggings and my black combat boots. To accessorize my outfit, I went with a simple, gold bracelet and my Coach cross-body bag.
