Hi! Im Haley Kurtze and I am a sophomore studying Fashion Merchandising at Virginia Commonwealth University. I absolutely love all things that are related to fashion and beauty, so getting to go to school for my passion is the absolute best. VCU is located in Richmond, VA. Richmond is a really cool city filled with a lot of artsy spots and cute boutiques. It isn’t your typical college campus, which is what I love about it the most! There is always something fun to do and new places to explore in the city.
Another passion of mine is hair. Hair and fashion go hand in hand! I currently work at a Redken Elite salon in my area, and have been for about two and a half years now. I attended cosmetology school on the side in high school and college and will hopefully be officially licensed this summer. I work at the salon on the weekends during the school year, and all throughout the summer months. Hair is something that I love to do and have a lot of fun with. It may sound kind of odd, but I consider it my personal form of art.
As far as my personal style goes, I like to mix it up. I love expressing myself with my clothes and playing with risky pieces and trends. Although I like to play around, most of my outfits usually have a very bohemian and carefree vibe to them. I love looks that seem effortless, yet still have an edge. The outfit I wore for this post is the perfect example of a go-to for me! Adding accessories like a hat, booties and a sleeveless cardigan give the jeans and tank look a little something else!
Aside from fashion and hair, I also really love photography. I’m always bringing my camera around with me, you never know where you will be inspired! Considering it incorporates all of my favorite things, I am super excited to be working with CollegeFashionista this summer. I hope you will stick around with me through the journey!
