STYLE GURU BIO: Ellie Williams

Hi Fashionistas/os! I am so excited to be a Style Guru this summer. Before we embark on this summer together, let me tell you a little bit about who I am.

An eclectic style has been ingrained into me since day one. I’ve always been a very creative and analytical gal. Growing up, I always imagined myself being a pediatrician. However, after being too grossed out by daytime TV shows like Untold Stories of the ER and realizing that I don’t care for children that much, I decided that life wasn’t for me. I switched to watching shows like Project Runway. This was when I first discovered my lifelong passion for beautiful fashion.

I started creating clothes for my Bratz dolls out of anything but ordinary materials, such as flowers, toilet paper and paper clips, you get the idea. I love to mix and match textures, patterns and colors with trendy and vintage finds, and try to never be a repeat outfit offender. My biggest style icons are Iris Apfel and my mom, both are women that fearlessly throw caution into the wind and forget the fashion rule book. They make fashion fun, just the way it should be.

Fast-forwarding to the present day; I am a student at the University of Arkansas studying apparel merchandising and product development, along with marketing. I have big dreams and big ambition, as I am constantly in hustle mode. I always say yes to new adventures. Though I am from Arkansas, this summer I will be interning for J. Mendel in New York City, and will be writing and photographing fashion for CollegeFashionista from the concrete jungle. I’m excited to see where this summer takes us!
