STYLE GURU BIO: Elizabeth McBride

I cannot believe that around this time last year, I was given the opportunity to be a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista. This summer marks my fourth semester with CollegeFashionista, and my love for fashion and this internship has grown leaps and bounds. This summer, I will be going to Italy for three weeks. I cannot wait to capture all of the fashion that Italy has to offer, and to stuff my face with pasta and gelato, of course! It is going to be a wonderful experience.

This past semester has been a mark of change in my personal life. I have started to take more risks and do more things that make me genuinely happy. Over the past year, I have been really loving the ’90s trend. However, this summer, I want to take more risks with my fashion choices to match all of the amazing changes I have been making in my personal life.

This outfit is not very typical of me, but it reflects how I want to change up my look this summer. I still incorporated the ’90s trend with my matte nude lip and black crop top. I love crop tops because I think they are really versatile and they make me feel confident. I paired the top with a neutral crochet vest to make it more school appropriate. Plus, it makes the outfit look more interesting. In my opinion, the flared cotton pants are the star of the show. I love the pattern and the cut of these pants. I have been intrigued by the ’70s trend, and I thought these pants were a great piece in my wardrobe to play around with that look. Not only do I love the look of these pants on, but they are great for summer because of its lightweight material. I finished the look by wearing a pair of basic black flats and a flower necklace.

Personally, the coolest thing about fashion is the creativity. I find that I channel some of my best creativity when I put looks together. I like the freedom that clothing and beauty gives me, as well as the ability to change up my look whenever I see fit. This will definitely be the summer of a fashion metamorphoses for me and I cannot wait!

Tune in every month to see what Roger Williams University has to offer! I am looking forward to learning more, becoming a stronger writer and photographer and to see what everyone else has to contribute to this incredible site.
