STYLE GURU BIO: Devyn Horan

Hi fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Devyn and I am going to be a junior at Marist College. I am currently studying fashion merchandising with a concentration in promotion and a minor in public relations. I am so excited to begin my internship experience with CollegeFashionista and share with you all the rad Fashionistas/os I encounter this summer!

I grew up with my mother constantly dressing me in everything from outrageous animal prints and colors to oversized bows and hats. Everyone used to say that I was one of the most stylish babies they had ever seen. Looking back at pictures, I can definitely agree with that statement. As I grew up I loved playing dress up and was always looking for an excuse to put on something fun. When I got a little older I constantly watched shows like What Not To Wear, Sex and the City and Say Yes To The Dress. I loved seeing the different styles and outfits people would wear. I always knew that fashion was for me and later in high school I decided that I definitely wanted to work in the industry. This path led me to Marist College where I could not be any happier.

My personal style definitely varies per occasion, but I am a big believer that you can never go wrong with the color black. It was Neiman Marcus who said, “Women who wear black lead colorful lives.” Most of my wardrobe is filled with neutrals, but I do like to throw in the occasional seasonal color. My style can be described as feminine with an edge. I love taking risks with my clothing and going outside the box. I am never afraid to wear a certain outfit and love when people notice. Currently, one of my favorite things in my closet is my pair of black gladiator sandals. I love them for summer and pair them with both dresses and patterned shorts. They really make a statement with any outfit.

Stay tuned to see all the stylish Fashionistas/os that inspire me this summer!
