STYLE GURU BIO: Chastity Orellana

Hello, my fellow fashion lovers! My name is Chastity Orellana, but you can call me Chas. I’m excited to begin my first semester with CollegeFashionista this summer and to see where this amazing journey takes me!

For a girl whose always loved big cities, I’m proud to say that country roads do take me home as I will be beginning my senior year at West Virginia University this fall. While I am a Strategic Communications major with an emphasis in Advertising and a minor in Media Entrepreneurship, I’ve also always had a love of not only fashion but style; which I hope to share with you this summer.

Growing up and trying to figure out my own fashion personality, I’ve come to realize that it’s not about where the specific articles of clothing are bought, but how they are put together. When developing one’s personal style, it’s important to try and not mimic fashion but to use it as a tool or reference. Without a person’s personal flair and style, the outfit can’t truly be brought to life. I find it’s best when an individual’s personality can be seen through their outfit!

When choosing my own outfits I like to take fashionable trends and turn them into casual, effortless looks. Typically, I love to keep the outfit simple and designate my accessories as the bold statements whether it’s a clutch, necklace or stellar shoes. Today, I decided to keep my outfit monochromatic and designate my ankle strapped pointed toe heels as the part of the ensemble that stood out the most. I paired the black top with a black asymmetrical hem skort and for accessories, a three-tiered necklace.

As I begin the path of building my career, I’ve come to embody the saying, “Do what you love, and love what you do,” and I hope to share this thought with you too! So now, get ready for a summer of articles filled with amazing trends, styles and of course some fashion inspirations. See you next Friday!
