STYLE GURU BIO: Caroline Letzel

Well, it’s 4:00 a.m. and I can’t believe that I’m sitting here writing my third STYLE GURU BIO for CollegeFashionista. About a year ago, I applied for the Style Guru Internship and since then I’ve learned so much about the world of fashion. This past year has certainly flown by, but I’m very excited for all of the new opportunities I’ll have my junior year!

In case you haven’t read my previous bios, or need a refresher,  I am now a junior at Bradley University, where I’m majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Retail Merchandising. Fashion has become such an important part of my life in the past few years. I love being able to express myself with different styles allowing me to be creative and unique. My two favorite designers are Marc Jacobs and Nicole Miller. Their designs correspond with a lot of my personal tastes and ideas about fashion. Fashion has the ability to give us so much confidence, whether we’re wearing one of our favorite pieces or knowing that our entire outfit is on point. I always feel so much better and organized when I look put together and made an effort into getting ready. Fashion is a form of expression for how you want to live your life and you get to share that with the world.

In addition to fashion, some of my favorite activities or hobbies include: eating way too much pizza and McDonalds, chilling with my Dachshund, idolizing Audrey Hepburn, being annoying on Instagram and Snapchat, taking long naps, drinking black water (also known as Coke), knowing way too much about zodiac signs and being a professional impulse buyer.

I’ve always loved shopping at boutiques to find one-of-a-kind items that are unlike a lot of popular styles. My dress is from Cupcakes and Cashmere and I love its drop waist. In addition to boutiques, some of my current favorite clothing brands are Madewell and ASOS. I took a very simple summer look that features a dress and jean jacket and made it my own. I paired this look with lace up booties; the perforated areas make them more suited for the summer, but on warmer days you could exchange them for a pair of cute sandals or wedges. During the summertime especially, I love accessorizing with different sunglasses. Adding some shades can really transform your look and give you some edge.
