STYLE GURU BIO: Annie Schwartz

Hey there, fellow Fashionistas/os, my name is Annie Schwartz and I am a junior at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland. I have just completed my first year there as a transfer student and am majoring in American Studies with a minor in Communications.

With a strong interest in the arts and popular culture, these passions have been expressed both in my personal style and my growing knowledge of high fashion. While I gravitate towards the casual comfort found in my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans and a graphic T-shirt, I am always captivated by the intricacies in works by designers such as Guo Pei, Raf Simons for Dior and Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy. Their designs attest to the fact that there is so much more behind fashion, proving that it is truly a form of art.

While couture and privé are always in the back of my mind, my wardrobe consists of the basics: endless denim, T-shirts galore and lots of sneakers. As a student in a relaxed environment, these are always my go-to. However, with an internship at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. this summer, I have revamped my professional style, which you will hopefully get a glimpse of in the coming weeks.

During my first summer as a Style Guru, I hope to provide feasible looks for the everyday girl while incorporating my other artistic interests. I cannot wait to explore what CollegeFashionista has to offer and am looking forward to seeing my fellow Style Gurus’ great work. Until then, get ready to rock that summer wardrobe!
