STYLE GURU BIO: Amber Calhoune

My name is Amber Calhoune, a rising junior at Emmanuel College with a business management major and a minor in graphic design. My main passions in life are talking and fashion. I spend most of my paychecks on clothes, and while my wallet may hate me for it, my closet (and my friends) thanks me.

I have always loved “dressing up”. Whether it was wearing an elaborate costume as a child or wearing a beautiful dress to a party as a teenager, I’ve always favored being over-dressed to under—which is probably what landed me the superlative “Best Dressed” my senior year of high school. I love fashion and always have, and I hope that one day I can work with a fashion magazine or work as a stylist/personal shopper.

I’ve always loved art and expression and spent my high school days drawing and painting, and now, in college, I love being a graphic design minor. Art, similarly to fashion, is a core part of my life and helps me express myself. My other loves in life include reading, good food, exploring the world around me and simply having fun with my friends.

This summer I am spending my summer back at home in Stamford, Connecticut, but when I’m yearning a change of scenery, I venture into New York City for the day or head back up to Boston for a weekend adventure! Here’s to a great summer filled with laughs, fun and fashion!
